Dear Guests,

The Srebrenitsa Genocideis a “black stain”in the history of mankind.

On the 28th Anniversaryof this Genocide, we stand united with our Bosniak brothers and sisters in theirtime of grieving and once again condemn this crime against humanity.

On behalf of my nationand people, I would like to express our deepest condolences to the families whohave lost their loved ones.

28 years ago, human dignity was severely injured in Srebrenitsa. This genocide has been a disgrace forhuman history in general and for Europe in particular.

It was humanity, conscience and compassion that was buried in Srebrenitsa28 years ago. No matter how long maypass, our pain will still remain fresh. We shall never forget the cries ofmothers and the children.

In order not to face the repetition of such tragedy, we must strive to buildnew generations raised in culture of peace and reconciliation.

Hence it is important to put an end to hate speech, segregation anddivisions. We should, of course, also mention Islamophobia, which should befought against. These are areas in which it is very important to fighttogether.

Attacks in Hanau and Halle in February 2019; NSU murders, SolingenDisaster and others remind us once again that we should always be vigilantagainst xenophobia, Islamophobia, racism, extreme nationalism, ethnic andreligious radicalism.

As Türkiye, weintensely work to bring lasting peace and stability in the region in order notto face any kind of similar events in the future.

Türkiye provides all necessary support for the security and prosperityof Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ensuring the future of Bosnia-Herzegovina as a strongand prosperous country is our duty to the martyrs we lost in Srebrenitsaand other parts ofBosnia-Herzegovina.There is no doubt that generations of young people arethe guarantee of a peaceful and prosperous Bosnia-Herzegovina.

It should not be forgotten that the peace in theBalkans is directly linked with the peace in Europe.

Hence we are also concerned with the developments in thenorth of Kosovo.We call on all sides to avoid violence and not to takeactions that will further escalate tensions as these events will have harmingaffect on regional security and stability.

In this respect Türkiye, will continue to do its partto sustain the regional peace and stability in the region in order to protectthe multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-religious social structure of theBalkans.
